About Ceez Labs
Ceez Labs, Inc. is a Utah-based assistive technology company incorporated in March 2026. We develop wearable dynamic thoracic braces for individuals with physical disabilities — built from lived experience, designed for real-world independence.
The company was founded by C. César Ibañez, who has lived with Spinal Muscular Atrophy since childhood. That experience isn't incidental to the work — it's the core of it. Every product decision starts with the question: does this actually solve the problem?
The Team
C. César Ibañez
Founder & Chief Science Officer
César brings a biology degree, bioinformatics experience, and firsthand lived experience with SMA to Ceez Labs. He holds the provisional patent for the core device technology and leads all research and development. César is also the founder and CEO of Ceez Industries, the company's sister nonprofit.
Tommy Pettit, Ph.D.
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Tommy is a Ph.D. biologist with over 15 years of experience in higher education, research grant management, and small business operations. He brings scientific credibility, operational leadership, and a long track record of project management to Ceez Labs.
Ammon Gallart
Chief Technology Officer
Ammon leads engineering and prototype development at Ceez Labs. He is a co-filer on the provisional patent and is responsible for translating design concepts into functional, wearable devices. His hands-on fabrication work is central to the company's early revenue model.
Our Story
Ceez Labs grew out of a simple observation: the assistive technology market has largely ignored the upper body. Devices for lower-limb ambulation exist. Devices for trunk and postural support — built for the way real people with disabilities actually live — largely do not.
César spent years navigating that gap firsthand. When advanced self-balancing mobility devices became available, the challenge wasn't learning to use them — it was having the trunk stability to use them safely. That problem led to a prototype, a patent, and eventually a company.
Ceez Labs is incorporated in Utah and is supported by Make Utah, a hard-tech nonprofit incubator in Pleasant Grove. We are pursuing non-dilutive grant funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program and building an early revenue base through direct clinical partnerships.
